MHA are delighted to announce that we have further strengthened our tax technology offering with the appointment of Andrew Fairhurst, formerly of EY, as Director and Head of Tax Technology based in the group’s London office.

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience with a background in both tax and technology. In his role at EY, Andrew was a member of the Tax, Technology and Transformation team, responsible for helping clients update and streamline their tax function in line with the latest technology. Andrew began his career at IBM and then moved to Andersen where he trained as a tax adviser before practising with KPMG.

Andrew’s appointment forms a key part of MHA’s rapidly growing tax and advisory capabilities. His primary role will be to lead and upskill the firm’s team of tax technology experts, which works across the business, internally with partners and externally with clients. Andrew’s experience will enhance MHA’s ability to help companies transform their tax functions, streamline their processes and plan effectively for future tax changes.

“It’s an exciting time to be in tax technology. Technology was previously seen as a means to calculate tax liabilities and file returns. Now clients value the investment in evaluating their processes and delivering automation where appropriate to maximise efficiency gains. MHA and Baker Tilly International are at the front of the pack on this and I’m thrilled to be leading the Tax Technology team.”
