Tailored VAT training for your firm

Building relationships
We ran a seminar for North West law firms in late 2022, which included an overview on key VAT issues. We were contacted following that seminar to design a tailored training session for one of the attendees.
The law firm requested training in several key areas. These included:
- When VAT should be charged to clients within and outside the UK.
- The recovery of VAT on employee expenses.
- When can legal disbursements be recharged to a client without VAT?
The training was divided into two sessions, the first tailored to the firm’s billing team and the second for the finance team with approximately 10 attendees at each session.
The training was designed to be informal, engaging, interactive and dare we say it, fun! This environment provided opportunities for the attendees to ask questions with real life examples and create discussions within the group.
Each session used real life scenarios to produce questions with multiple choice answers.
As well as providing an opportunity to ask questions throughout, there was a designated slot at the end of the session. We sent the attendees a copy of the presentation via email and welcomed any feedback.
