Andreas is a Tax Partner at Baker Tilly South East Europe, based in Cyprus. He joined the firm in 2015 as a trainee and has steadily progressed through the ranks to become a key member of the leadership team. After an initial period in audit, he transitioned internally to specialise in tax advisory and compliance.
His main areas of expertise include direct taxation for both legal entities and individuals, as well as VAT, particularly in line with EU directives and Cypriot legislation. Andreas works across a broad client base, supporting multinational enterprises, SMEs, local and international companies, natural persons, and public interest entities. As taxation is cross-sectoral, he provides specialist tax services regardless of industry.
Andreas is a committed contributor to the broader tax profession in Cyprus. He is:
- A member of ICAEW and a holder of the CIOT’s ADIT qualification
- A member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC)
- An elected member of ICPAC’s Tax Compliance Committee, advising the Tax Authorities on draft legislation and circulars
- A member of a tax advisory committee for Cyprus’ largest political party
- A Board Member and Secretary of the Cyprus VAT Association (CYVA)
- A member of CYVA’s Technical VAT Committee
Andreas initially chose Baker Tilly South East Europe to pursue the ACA qualification, and stayed on due to a shared vision with the firm’s leadership. Now, as a Partner, he plays an active role in shaping the future of the organisation.
Outside of work Andreas is passionate about the world economy, financial markets, cryptocurrencies, and commodities. He enjoys spending time with his young baby, and stays active through CrossFit, calisthenics, swimming, and playing padel.
