Martyn qualified as a chartered accountant with EY working in their international tax services department. After six years in practice Martyn moved to academia, joining the Robert Gordon University (RGU) as a lecturer in 2016.
Whilst at RGU Martyn taught tax, ethics and accounting to undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervised research in the areas of corporate ethics and tax transparency. Martyn completed his PhD through part time study and continues to pursue research in international tax.
Martyn joined MHA in August 2024 as National Senior Tax Training Manager.
Martyn sits on the ICAS Ethics Board and the ICAS Committee on Large and Internation Taxation and volunteers as a mentor for the ICAS Foundation. Martyn also retains an honorary lecturership at RGU, where he occasionally teaches.
