Matt began his tax career at HMRC, where he specialised in Capital Allowances policy, before transitioning into private practice in 2018 with MHA Tait Walker. During this time, he gained his RICS qualification and achieved chartered status.
Over the years, Matt has worked with a range of firms, including boutique capital allowances specialists as well as Veritas Advisory and BDO. He has also led a multidisciplinary commercial surveying team, where he successfully established a capital allowances service offering.
Matt’s main areas of expertise are Capital Allowances and Land Remediation Relief. He works across all sectors and supports a broad spectrum of clients — from individual taxpayers to corporate entities. He is a proud member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
He re-joined MHA to develop a new service offering within a firm that values a strong people-first culture as much as performance — something he believes is vital to long-term success.
Outside of work Matt is passionate about the outdoors. Having previously lived in the countryside, he enjoyed time on the farm and now spends his free time hiking and exploring nature following his move to London in 2024. He is also a keen traveller, having explored Southeast Asia, South America, Australia, and Europe.
