From Germany to London: How one secondee found new possibilities at MHA

For Ksenia Marskaya, a senior tax consultant from Baker Tilly Germany, this belief became a reality through an exciting secondment opportunity in London.

After five years with Baker Tilly Germany, Ksenia had developed a strong foundation working in a classic German tax consultancy team, handling financial statements and tax returns as well as tax projects. But she wanted more than routine; she wanted a wider perspective. 

“I always wanted to broaden my experience,” she explains. “I was curious about how our teams work abroad, how we do business globally and coordinate with international clients.”

Her curiosity wasn’t just a passing thought. Inspired by the success of a Dutch secondee who joined her German team the previous year, Ksenia began discussing the idea with her manager, Ines Paucksch, Partner at Baker Tilly. 

 “The open-plan environment in the London office really stood out to me,” she shared. “There’s a genuine inclusiveness here that I love.”
