MHA’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) team have made the shortlist at the prestigious International Accounting Bulletin Awards (IABA) 2024.

The awards which take place on the 20th June at the Park Plaza Victoria in London are an annual celebration of the accountancy industry and a reflection of successes from the previous 12 months.

MHA are celebrating being shortlisted in the ESG/Sustainability of the Year (Network/Association) category.

Having been an early adopter since 2003, MHA have led the integration of ESG sustainability into a unique industry mix of education, food and finance plus into the accounting profession, as a principled ethical organisation effecting change. Be it people or global business, MHA have achieved this, by implementing proactive compliance with external regulation, and driven change in grassroots behaviour's, leadership and management.

Mark Lumsdon-Taylor partner and ESG lead at MHA, said:

“I’m delighted that our dedication, focus and long-term ESG strategy has been acknowledged in this way.

“Our company motto is “now, for tomorrow,” and applies to our own business and in the way we partner with clients to help them towards integrating more positive climate actions and improved governance while pursing economic growth.

Effectively ESG is now very much within the firm’s DNA.”

On the night, the winner will be crowned based on having demonstrated a commitment to developing and deploying sustainability initiatives and governance frameworks for corporates and communities to reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

They will have also invested in leading an initiative or project which has had proven benefits for their clients’ ESG objectives.

Rachael Dagger, National ESG Manager at MHA said:

“Over the years since ESG has become an integral blueprint in what we do and how we respect our clients and wider communities, we have scored many achievements.

“However, one notable achievement was the creation of a bespoke MHA dynamic ESG programme to change the behaviours of businesses.

“It is great to see these internal and client-facing achievements recognised at the International Accounting Bulletin Awards 2024. MHA is the UK independent member firm of Baker Tilly International, a top ten global network of independently owned and managed accountancy and business advisory firms, operating across over 140 territories."

Francesca Lagerberg, global CEO at Baker Tilly International, said:

“I am delighted to see MHA being recognised for their work in this area. It is reflective of the network’s commitment to ESG and providing support to our clients plus walking the talk internally.”
