Our Sustainability Promise

We fully support the UK government’s ambitious plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero carbon (‘Net Zero’) by 2050 by ensuring we perform all reasonable procedures to be a Net Zero organisation by 2030.

To achieve these goals, we are raising awareness within the Firm via climate change workshops, implementing an internal training certification, and creating climate transition plans with emissions targets covering Scope 1, 2 and 3. We also recognise the vital role of Nature and the ‘S’ (Social) and the ‘G’ (Governance) in ESG.

We are committed to providing our people, our clients, and our suppliers with the support necessary to enable them to contribute meaningfully to achieving our Sustainability Promise; and we are equally committed to achieving that promise within a governance framework that is class-leading.

We are also working on driving the application of our talent within our use of technology and our client-focused digital expertise for the wider benefit of stakeholders.

We are committed to Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) and setting reduction targets in line with their globally recognised high standards.

Our positioning statement ‘Global Expertise, National Experience, Local Excellence’ is reflected in the structure of our ESG policy which looks to ensure we are having a positive impact on the world around us. From protecting our environment globally, to supporting national and local communities with projects, we are demonstrating our commitment to our communities in many varied ways.

We lead with honesty and integrity, and pride ourselves on our strong governance structure which underpins our ESG values. Holding ourselves to the highest standard of accountability, we are dedicated to embedding our social and environmental goals into policy and decision making throughout the Firm at all levels.

As active members of the UN Global Compact Network, we are committed to aligning our initiatives and actions to their principles and to the UN Sustainability Development Goals, as well as aligning our reductions targets to the Science Based Targets Initiative standards.

Our robust internal frameworks for our social and environmental impact enables ultimate transparency between our key stakeholders from management board through to our offices, regions and the wider Baker Tilly International (BTI) global network, where we sit on the international working parties for ESG.
